{The Distraction I’ve Carrie’d...}
I have a habit of being everywhere except where I actually am.
I’ll be folding laundry while mentally writing an email. Walking the dog while planning dinner. Sitting in a conversation, nodding along — but quietly ticking through my to-do list in the background.
Maybe you’ve been there too. Fully present in body, but halfway elsewhere in spirit.
It’s easy to move so quickly that we miss the moment right in front of us.
We multitask and juggle and rush, believing it’s the only way to keep up. But in the chaos, we lose something — connection, clarity, calm. And more than anything, we lose the ability to really feel grounded.
Life doesn’t ask us to be everywhere.
It asks us to be here.
And presence — true, anchored, full-hearted presence — takes practice.
But when we slow down enough to catch it, it always feels like coming home.
Until next time…
I’ll be over here chasing joy and reflecting what I find.
Reflecting on the distraction you’ve carried.
- Where in your life do you struggle most to stay present?
- What small shift could help you pause and pay attention in everyday moments?
- How could being fully where you are deepen your relationships and joy?
A little sprinkle of faith for my Jesus people:
Relevant Scripture:
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
Prayer:
God, slow my racing mind and anxious heart. Help me to notice the beauty You place right in front of me each day. Teach me to be still — not just with my body, but with my spirit too. Amen.
