{The Self-Doubt I’ve Carrie’d...}

I used to think shining my light meant doing something big — standing on a stage, leading a major project, or having a platform that made people pay attention. Something official. Something undeniable.

I thought maybe if I just did enough, or was bold enough, the world would confirm, “Look — there’s someone who’s doing it right.”

But real life?
It doesn’t usually hand you a microphone and a standing ovation.

Most days, shining looks a lot more ordinary than I expected.
It looks like showing up for the people right in front of you.
Listening when you’re tired.
Choosing encouragement when you could stay silent.
Sending the text you’ve been meaning to send for days.

Maybe you’ve felt it too — that pressure to wait until you’re more polished, more ready, more something before you believe your light is worth offering.

But the truth is:
You don’t have to be polished.
You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to be willing.

Small light is still light.
And light always matters — maybe even more than we realize.

Until next time…
I’ll be over here chasing joy and reflecting what I find.

Reflecting on the self-doubt you’ve carried.
  • Where do you feel called to shine right now, even if it feels small?
  • What fears hold you back from stepping into those everyday moments?
  • How could you remind yourself that imperfect light still brings real warmth?
A little sprinkle of faith for my Jesus people:

Relevant Scripture:
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16

Prayer:
God, help me remember that my small acts of love and kindness matter. Teach me not to hide my light out of fear or comparison, but to trust that You can use even the smallest spark to bring hope. Amen.
